Artist Point in Yosemite at Sunrise
To experience sunrise at Artist Point, a stop along the hike to Inspiration Point, just above Yosemite Valley at the height of summer, you have to start hiking from the trailhead by 3 a.m. or earlier! It’s not for everyone, I understand that, but for those who want to lean into the adventure of a place like Yosemite, early hours are when you find yourself able to enjoy the beauty of the park without crowds.

After hiking back down from Inspiration Point, we stopped at a picnic area to enjoy homemade pastries and coffee. It was the perfect end to an epic morning! Breakfast was followed by a short walk through the valley, a visit to the chapel, and a stop at Yosemite Falls. We took a break midday to avoid the harsh bright light, then met back up at Autocamp Yosemite.
