Desert Storm Abiquiu Elopement

T & A’s desert elopement in Abiquiu began at the stunning Grand Hacienda overlooking Abiquiu Lake. There, alongside their family and friends, they spent the weekend exploring New Mexico and making precious memories. The day of their wedding celebration began sunny and warm—but as we began packing up to head to the ceremony site, clouds started rolling in. Thankfully these two and their loved ones are adventurous souls, so we began the hike out to their pre-discovered site and quickly set up.

The ceremony included live music, their best friend officiating, and heartfelt letters read by parents. The rain held off just long enough to say “I do” before we just as quickly packed back up and returned to the trailhead. It had begun to rain softly, but our cautious optimism led us to set up a picnic there at the trailhead instead of running for cover. About 15 minutes later the skies really opened up, shutting down the picnic, but revealing one of the most stunning rainbows I’ve ever seen!
