I believe in taking action.

In the same way I developed a deep for the outdoors by being outdoors, I curated a confidence in my business and my art by practicing photography.

You want to be an elopement photographer. You’ve scoured the internet for free education, followed the industry leaders on social media, soaked up all the information you could find in Facebook groups, etc. You’ve done the research, now it’s time to do the thing.

Maybe you’ve already started. Your business is off the ground, but now you want to bump it up to that next level. Maybe you’re simply looking for a new perspective, because two heads are better than one.

It’s time for you to do the damn thing! Take the leap. Challenge yourself to go as far as you can imagine. I fully believe you can do it. Sometimes it just takes a little support, or a nudge in the right direction.

To meet you where you are

These are topics you can expect to discuss during your mentor session.

  • This is all about asking yourself “why” you do this, what you’re trying to say with your art, and how to cohesively communicate these goals via your marketing channels.

  • Efficient marketing doesn’t happen accidentally, it needs a plan. We’ll discuss the avenues you’re currently using and how you can streamline the process to communicate effectively.

  • The beast we all love to hate, or hate to love. Each channel serves its own purpose, and I can help you pinpoint what avenues are worth your time and which ones might actually be hurting your business.

  • Determining your worth is different from developing a pricing strategy. Dissecting these terms and differentiating goals to understand your pricing will optimize your profits.

  • Your website is your most effective marketing tool. Building it, and maintaining it, might just be the most important thing you do to get your work in front of potential clients.

  • This is what you do from the moment a potential client reaches out, to when you deliver the final product, and beyond. How you build your workflow will directly affect your client’s experience, and your profits.

  • I have a tried & true method for archiving files. I’ve never lost a client’s work, and I’m confident I never will if I meticulously follow these super simple rules.

  • How can you go from simply delivering images, to delivering images that will forever remind clients of the incredible day you helped them create?

  • This is where you look at a full body of work—an entire client gallery—with the goal is telling the whole story. You’re not just delivering a bunch of individually great photos, you’re delivering a collection that works stronger together.

  • Your art is what you make of it, and the value you bring can’t be taught. But, there are some basic rules you can learn to consistently create beautiful images that look how you want them to look.

Washington Photographer Education & Mentorship

Online or In-Person Education Mentorship

This is a 1-hour session over Zoom or at a local coffee shop where we deep-dive into the topics you’ve chosen beforehand. This is an opportunity to ask questions, take a sh*t ton of notes, and soak up all the education we can fit into an hour.

Beforehand, I’ll send you a thorough questionnaire for you to fill out explaining your goals, your experience, and which of the above listed topics you’re most interested in learning.

These sessions can be booked as many times as you want! If you want to do a second deeper dive into something we discussed the first session, or if you want to broaden your knowledge beyond what can be discussed in just an hour, I offer 20% off for returning students. I want you to get the most out of this, so you’ll always receive a summary of the topics discussed after our call/meeting and an actionable plan to incorporate those ideas into your business.

Have you ever wished you had someone watching over your shoulder, slowing your racing thoughts, and guiding your eyes to see the potential in a session? I know how easy it is to get overwhelmed, and after a session wish I’d taken the time to try something artistic. This is your chance!

Education FAQs

Where do these mentorships take place?

I live in Bellingham, Washington and it is easiest for me to schedule mentorships during the slower season (November-March) in the PNW. However, it’s always worth reaching out to see if I have availability along my travel schedule is you want to work together elsewhere. If you’re not based in the PNW, consider a Zoom education session.

How far in advance should I book a mentorship?

I recommend reaching out a minimum of a month in advance, but ideally closer to 3 months. This gives you and me time to tailor the education to where you’re at, but not so much time that you feel stagnant in your growth. You’re here because you want to create positive change now, and I am all for that!

How much does a mentorship cost?

A 1-hour educational in-person or Zoom mentorship is $500, and a 1-hour education followed by a 1-hour styled shoot is $900.

What if I don’t know what I want to learn?

Sometimes we simply don’t know what we don’t know, which is why I want to ensure we have a plan for this that is truly tailored to you. If you’re really unsure, let’s start with the basics. Book your session and I’ll be sending out the questionnaire to determine your experience level prior to setting your curriculum.
