New Mexico Elopement at Pecos

The details of this desert wedding in Santa Fe, New Mexico were incredible! From the location—Pecos National Park, one of my favorites—to the ways R & T incorporated loves ones who couldn’t be present, this day brought me to tears. It’s so special when couples truly give thought and intention to every single thing they bring into this sacred space where they say “I do.” I’m so honored to witness it!

Kind words from the couple:

“It’s taken me a minute to write this because I honestly didn’t know where to start.

When we decided to have a destination wedding in Santa Fe, I googled destination wedding photographers while I was riding along on a road trip. Jenn’s website was the first one to catch my eye — based solely on the images that came up. Her photography was absolutely stunning and intimate and magical. Then I began reading her website and realized she was just a cool human too.

We reached out and scheduled our consult over Zoom. We immediately felt super comfy with Jenn. She understood our goals behind having a small, intimate destination wedding and also had a ton of good feedback for us as we started on planning our big day. When we shared the date we had in mind, it turned out to be her own wedding anniversary with her husband, Dillen. We were bummed because we assumed that she wouldn’t be available based on that, but Jenn jumped onboard quickly and we decided to celebrate the day together with Dillen in tow as her second shooter.

I can’t stress this enough: our wedding wouldn’t have looked the same, or probably even have been possible, without Jenn’s input and guidance. This was our first time planning a destination wedding - and doing it from several states, and several hundred miles, away.

Jenn recommended our officiant, who was tremendous. Jenn recommended our florist, who did an excellent job and took such good care of us. Jenn put us in touch with the chef that catered lunch after our ceremony and made our wedding cake. Jenn took it upon herself to track down a vintage Mercedes to use in our photos, when we came up short, and saved the day.

Our wedding day was absolutely everything we could have dreamed of and more. And that’s a direct result of having Jenn (and Dillen) on our team. We were a little nervous that meeting Jenn and Dillen in person on our wedding day might be distracting or there could be a little awkwardness on one of the most intimate days our of lives but that was silly. The second they walked in, it was like reuniting with old friends. More than that, having Jenn and Dillen with us added so much to the day. I can honestly say that, outside of the moments where we took some posed group shots, I don’t remember them being around us shooting. What I do remember are the conversations we had, the laughs we had and how seen, supported and loved we felt. Jenn and Dillen are so incredibly good at what they do that I didn’t even know they were doing it so much of the time. When we got the photos back, we were so surprised and thankful to see all the moments they captured.

And the photos. The. Photos.

It’s impossible to look at the images that Jenn and Dillen captured, and Jenn so beautifully processed, without being right back in that day — in that moments. That’s what drew us to Jenn’s work in the first place: her pictures capture the emotion of the moment. And boy did she deliver on ours! We can’t look at half of them without crying, because the overwhelming joy of that day comes back to us.

If you’re considering Wild Coast Photography, know that you will get so much more than a photographer if you choose Jenn. You’ll get a friend, who happens to be an expert, to help plan your big day. You’ll get a creative-thinking, knowledgeable partner that wants to make your wedding day personal and thoughtful. You’ll get an insanely talented and capable photographer to capture your day. You’ll get to share it with a (new) old friend (or two). You’ll get a collection of photos that tell the story of your wedding day in what feels like your own voice.

And you’ll get a forever friend (or two).” —Ryan
